Oil of black cumin, Nigella sativa
Black cumin oil is extracted from the seeds of the Nigella sativa plant and contains unsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids, especially omega-3 and omega-6. It also contains minerals, vitamins, amino acids, alkaloids and essential oils. Its content in thymoquinone, a potent antiseptic, antihistamine, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, is especially noteworthy.
Butyric acid or butyrate
Butyric acid is a probiotic generated by intestinal microorganisms and represents a great source of energy for the same microorganisms, as well as for other metabolic functions. It produces changes in the pH of the intestine, increasing the growth of beneficial intestinal flora and inhibiting harmful flora. In addition, together with lactic acid and propionic acid, it forms a synergistic whole that is very beneficial for intestinal health.
It increases the absorption of sodium and water in the colon and regulates the proliferation of endothelial cells in the intestine. It is also anti-inflammatory and immunoregulatory and helps repair damaged mucosa in cases of ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s disease. Contributes to the integrity of the intestinal wall and its function, as well as helps regulate intestinal motility in case of irritable bowel syndrome.
