Decent housing and fair society are universal rights.<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Unfortunately, according to the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean ECLAC, in the Dominican Republic, about <\/span>20.3% of the population lives in total poverty, and 4.5% lives in extreme poverty, <\/span>with a possible increase of 4.4% and 2.2% respectively due to the impact of the pandemic. According to these data, most of us have a home, but not in the same conditions. <\/span>Twenty-five per cent of these homes lack heating when it is cold, and cooling when hot is scorching.<\/span>. We must be aware of the tough precarious conditions that thousands of Dominican families have to endure, <\/span>being their basic human rights violated every day.<\/b> <\/span><\/p>\n

Looking in person at the living conditions of these families awakes our empathy, and awareness calling for action,<\/span> trying to change their reality<\/span>. A donation can make their lives better. It will help us to understand each other’s reality, to care more about them. <\/span><\/p>\n

Each needy person requires a different kind of help. In this case we wish with all our heart to be part of the construction of decent housing for these families and their young children. The needs are different for every person, but we are making an effort to get these families and their children a decent home. You can donate building materials, clothing, toys, appliances, non-perishable food, cleaning and personal hygiene items, your time as a volunteer or economic aid. <\/span><\/p>\n
